Mindfulness & Visualisation for Fertility

Wanting to have a baby and facing infertility is one of the most challenging things in life. One of our basic drives is to procreate, when this doesn't happen easily it can bring with it a lot of stress. This course is designed to teach you how to bring the skills of mindfulness and visualisation into your life to support your fertility journey. These tools will help you to deal with the difficult emotions that this journey brings up and help to reduce stress and open up to inviting in the spirit of your child. 

Mindfulness is a powerful technique of training the mind to stay in the present and unhook from worrisome or depressive thoughts that trying to have a baby can bring up. 

Visualisation is about using your mind to create and connect with the soul of your wishes helping to activate positive neurochemicals in the body and maintaining your focus on possibility. 

All too often our minds race into the future or the past and create images of negativity that actually have the effect of shutting us down. We will use both mindfulness and creative visualisation to support you in creating a vision of your family that inspires you to take the actions you need to bring this vision into reality. While also letting go of any grasping or clinging and moving towards trusting in the process of life.

This course will help you to:

  1. Help you to become the loving nourishing parent your baby needs you to be so they can come into this world.
  2. Manage your mind by training it to focus on the present moment.
  3. Learn to unhook from future thinking that can lead to anxiety about becoming and staying pregnant. 
  4. Learn to let go of past experiences and rumination over things you can't change.  
  5. Learn to forgive or let go of past hurts. 
  6. Develop compassion for yourself. 
  7. Support you in your pregnancy. 

What’s included:

There are bite-sized lessons that teach core coping skills 10-20 minutes a session followed by a 10-20 minute practice. This learning builds a layered approach supporting you to integrate the skills into your fertility journey. 

Depending on what point you are on in your journey you can take this course in different ways that work for you. 

Option 1: If you have time you can take each session and work on the meditations for that session for 1 week. Starting approximately 2 months before you anticipate beginning a fertility cycle. 

Option 2: If you are at the beginning of a cycle and are eager to use these meditations to support that cycle then you can do Session 1 & Session 8 Day 1 together on the first day of your period. Then the next day work on Session 2 & Session 8 Day 2. After this, continue in a way that works for you and supports your journey. 

Also, note that I have added the audios without and with music so you can try them and see which you prefer.

I have been on this journey too. I have walked the ground you are walking and felt the pain you are feeling. I also have a long background in mindfulness meditation, I work with children, adolescents and families. I have been involved in designing, delivering and evaluating courses that support in realising their dreams over the past 15 years. 

I have developed trusted programmes for the Health Service Executive - Ireland, Tusla – Ireland, Department of Education – Ireland, Youth Organisations – Ireland and Internationally.

I have worked with people since 2005 using a client-centred, needs-led and outcomes-focused approach to the programmes to ensure they best meet the needs of the participants and are informed by best available evidence.

I have a PhD in Political Science & Sociology, MA in Health Promotion, BSc in Science, Dip in Youth and Community Work. I teach Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, Mindfulness-Based Compassionate Living. I am a transformational coach who works with adolescents and adults in supporting them realise their dreams and overcome limitations and barriers.
