Day 9: Know Thyself & Your Inner Tendencies
Today's lesson explores our inner tendencies, patterns and reactions. This helps us to understand who we are and how we experience our world. We look at how this breaks down into physical sensations, emotions, thoughts and behaviour.
Your meditation practice for today is focusing on Gratitude, Intention & Love. Explore what you are grateful for, what your intention is and how to radiate love.
Today let's get creative.
Grab a pen, pencil, colouring pencils or markers and a page. You are going to draw yourself and who you believe you are. What makes up you? Think deeply about this and ask yourself the question:
WHO AM I?
What defines you, your essence, your qualities and characteristics?
Who are you when you are at your best?
Who are you when you are under stress?
Let your creative juices flow!
When you are done, consider the following:
How did this person emerge?
What happened in this individuals life to become like this, what opportunities, what challenges?
Look at all the experiences that make up this life (past and present).
Now use it to practice mindfulness and compassion:
Observing the image you have created, notice the breath and body.
Can you bring understanding to this entire image of yourself?
Can you bring openness, curiosity, non-judgement and kindness to this entire image of yourself?
Can you bring love?
Let your compassion flow.
