Day 5: From Human Doing to Human Being
Today we will explore how we move from the 'doing' mode to the 'being' mode. We look at how we distract ourselves from being in the present and getting to know our true selves.
Your practice for today is breath awareness. You are invited to sit and observe your breath with eyes closed. When the mind wanders away gently bring it back to the breath.
Notice how you go about your day. Are you more in the 'doing' mode or in the 'being' mode?
Bring your awareness to something simple today, maybe washing your hands, sweeping the floor, brushing your teeth or some other simple activity. Notice what it is like to do this activity with mindfulness. Simply being aware of what you are doing as you do it without judgement. Does it change the quality of engagement with the activity at all? And if so in what way?
