Day 23: Building Resilience
Today we explore the concept of resilience. What it means to bounce back (or forward), in the face of adversity. How we can become resilient ourselves and how we can support and challenge others to become resilient.
Today your practice is sitting meditation after which you can reflect on the questions below and journal your answers.
Building Resilience within Myself
What areas of my life do I feel strong and resilient?
What areas of my life could I move gently out of my comfort zone to challenge myself to grow?
What support would I need to meet this challenge? (REMEMBER you never have to do anything alone, learn from those who have gone before you. There is a lovely saying 'model those who have done it before and learn from the greats!)
Can I stay open and curious as to the possibilities that might emerge for me by gently challenging myself?
Building Resilience in Others
Are there people in my life that I default to 'support only mode', for fear that they won't like me? (Do I find myself enabling poor behaviour instead of challenging it?)
Can I be true to myself when relating with this person by challenging behaviour I don't agree with?
What support would I need to meet this challenge?
Can I stay open and curious to the possibilities that emerge from me being more authentic in the presence of this person?
