Day 1: What is Mindfulness?

In today's lesson, we learn about what mindfulness is and why it is helpful in dealing with anxiety and depression.

We explore how the brain reacts to stressful events and engage in a body scan practice to get out of our heads and connect with the body.


Why is this helpful? 

Mindfulness is about being in the present moment, without judgement. This practice helps train the mind to stay in the present and not get carried away into the future or the past to events we can not change or control. 


Mindfulness Practice - The Body Scan - 20 minutes. Best done lying down. Learning to get out of the head and into the body.
